PORTS OF CALL
To view an album of things to do and see in Cozumel, CLICK HERE
Just off the coast of the Yucatan Peninsula sits the island of Cozumel, draped in lush, tropical vegetation. The reefs that fringe the island beckon divers and snorkelers. The most popular shore excursions include snorkeling on famous Palancar Reef or a beginner's dive at Paraiso Reef. A land tour will provide a nice taste of Mexico -- Cozumel has done much to retain its Mexican character. Tourists also may want to take a short trip inland to visit the great pyramids and temples of the Mayas.

Mysterious ruins rescued from the jungle, monkeys announcing themselves from the trees, incredibly beautiful and rare birds, pristine beaches and a magnificent coral reef are just some of the attributes of the Costa Maya. This southern section of the Yucatan coast stretches 80 miles from Xcalak, a fishing village on a finger of land reaching out to Belize. The reserve's untouched forests and wetlands are home to a wide variety of birds, crocodiles, jaguars and monkeys as well as numerous Mayan sites.

The classic interior design of the Carnival Paradise honors famous ocean liners of the past. The two-deck Normandie Showroom is done in an art-deco style, with stained-glass chandeliers and cherry wood trim. In the America Bar, a Venetian glass mural in red, white and blue creates a waving American flag. Meet newly made friends in the Rotterdam Bar or go dancing in the Queen Mary Lounge. In the six-story atrium, glass elevators silently glide up and down as passengers relax at the circular bar below. Passengers seeking a casual alternative to the two main restaurants can opt for the casual Paris Restaurant or offerings from the snack bars and pizzeria. This ship also features an adults-only "Serenity" area that offers bar service, ocean vistas, and whirlpools for relaxation.
