King's Wharf, part of the Royal Naval Dockyard, has something for everyone. Sample typical island food and stroll through the shops or the Dockyard's Maritime Museum. If that's not enough, a snorkel park and water-sport facility offer hours of activities to the adventurous.

Charleston is one of South Carolina's most picturesque cities, with beautifully preserved architecture and an aristocratic yet gracious atmosphere. Wooden shutters and ironwork balconies embellish the tall, narrow houses, and hidden gardens hold fragrant magnolia trees. You can tour the historic quarters on a walking tour or carriage ride. Boone Hall Plantation re-creates antebellum grandeur, and Middleton Place recalls life on an 18th-century plantation. Civil War buffs can tour Fort Sumter, where local troops opened fire on April 12, 1861, and set off the War Between the States.

The Carnival Ecstasy was designed to dazzle. From the colorful neon lights of the Grand Atrium Plaza to the polished brass and marble of the Society Bar, every inch of this ship was grandly decorated to match the fun and festive atmosphere found onboard. City Lights Boulevard, a happening hot spot in the evenings, leads to the popular Stripes Dance Club, the Rolls Royce Café (coffee shop and Internet cafe), the Crystal Palace Casino and a vast selection of bars and lounges. Dance to live music at Chinatown, where pagoda lamps and lanterns create an Oriental theme, or catch a Vegas revue -- complete with elaborate costumes, lighting effects and pyrotechnics -- at the Blue Sapphire Lounge. Snack bars, a pizzeria and the Panorama Bar & Grill complement the Wind Song and Wind Star restaurants.

Kids will have a blast in their newly expanded Camp Carnival area for ages 2-12, Circle "C" for ages 12-14 and Club O2 which caters to older teens. Meanwhile mom and dad enjoy the adults-only "Serenity" area that offers bar service, ocean vistas and whirlpools for relaxation. Every member of the family should try out WaterWorks, the onboard water park, complete with the Twister Waterslide. All staterooms feature Carnival’s Comfort Bed Collection, which includes 100% hypoallergenic down duvet, high-quality sheets and satin-striped cotton duvet cover and pillow cases. Suites have been updated with all the same features, as well as new decor, renovated bathrooms and flat-screen TVs.
