Haines, with a population of under 3,000, lies in the upper northern reaches of the Inside Passage and is an important access point to the Yukon Territory and Interior Alaska. While the town itself may lack the charm of Sitka or Petersburg, the surrounding scenery is stunning. Travelers arriving by boat will see Lynn Canal, the longest and deepest fjord in North America, close in on them. Once you are in town, mountains seem to surround you on all sides. The Port of Vancouver is 25 minutes from Vancouver's International Airport (YVR). Parking is available at the Canada Place Ship Terminal for C$20.00 per day (for 3 days or more). Rates are subject to change by the Port Authority.

Traveling North from I-5 - Take I-5 which will become Provincial Route 99 N. Take the Marine Drive West ramp. Stay straight to go onto SW Marine Drive. SW Marine Drive becomes Granville Street. Granville Street becomes Granville Street/ Granville Bridge. Take the HWY-99N/Seymour Street ramp towards BC ferries/Horseshoe Bay/Whistler. Stay straight to go onto Seymour Street. Turn left onto W Georgia Street. Turn right onto Burrard Street. Burrard Street becomes Burrard Place which becomes Waterfront Road W. The Ship Terminal should be visible from Waterfront Road.

The Ballantyne Terminal is 25 minutes from Vancouver’s International Airport (YVR).

Traveling North from I-5 – Take I-5 which will become Provincial Route 99 N. From BC-99, take exit 16 onto BC-91N. Follow BC-91N and exit Knight Street. Knight Street will become Clark Drive. Continue north on Clark and turn right on Stewart Street. Ballantyne will be on your right hand side, about 1KM down.

Cruises from Anchorage (Seward) depart from May to September.

Seward sits at the head of Resurrection Bay on the Kenai Peninsula, about 125 miles south of Anchorage. This breath taking town is home to the renowned Kenai Fjords National Park and the multi-million dollar Alaska SeaLife Center. Seward is ideal for for kayaking, sailing and fishing in the bay, or hiking and biking among the gorgeous scenery.

Driving Directions and Parking Information

Traveling from Anchorage Airport - Take International Airport Road east until you reach Minnesota Drive. Turn right on Minnesota Drive and follow the signs to the Seward Highway south. Once on the Seward Highway, you will travel approximately 130 miles to Seward. Once in Seward, follow the signs to the Alaska Railroad Dock. The ships can be seen on your left from the highway as you enter Seward.

There are no parking facilities at the Seward Port at this time. Most cruise lines conduct cruise check-in in Anchorage, and provide motor coach transportation to the pier in Seward.
